If there's one thing I'm learning as a new mom, it is the need to stay flexible…especially when you're running errands with a 2 month old! Yesterday Kate's carseat would only fit in the big part of the grocery cart. So, I discovered the art of stuffing groceries in the tiny spaces between her carseat and the cart. Those spaces soon filled up, of course, so I had to resort to placing groceries on top of her! (Don't worry–nothing heavy! Only things like bread, salad, etc.) The people working at the grocery got such a kick out of seeing her surrounded by groceries, that I thought I should capture the moment!

Last night Greg took me out to my first Washington Nationals baseball game! A big group of his co-workers were there, and I enjoyed talking with all of them and hearing them tell me stories about Greg, (most of them kept telling me how much he loves to talk about Kate!) We had a great time together! I even had a yummy crab cake…who knew they had good food at the stadium?!

Yesterday was Greg's birthday–he turned 28!! His dad and Leah were here visiting and we celebrated with a wonderful dinner at the Ruth Chris Steakhouse in Annapolis. And yes, Kate came along for the fun. She added some entertainment for us as she sent us on a search for a place to change her diaper at an upscale restaurant (FYI–there are of course no changing tables at Ruth Chris!). She also helped Greg and I improve on that important parenting skill of "eating while holding."
