Breakfast anyone?

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

Saturday morning is a fun morning in the Spraul home, because the Spraul gals get to enjoy Greg being home with us all morning. Today I got up to feed Kate and left Greg in bed enjoying a little extra sleep. After feeding Kate, I folded some clothes and picked up her room a bit while she played. As we came downstairs, I noticed a scrumptous smell coming from the kitchen… only to find Greg having prepared a full Saturday morning spread while I was upstairs, complete with waffles, scrambled eggs & cheese, and some great coffee. I walked into the kitchen and he handed me a piping hot plate of the goodies with a big smile on his face. This is just one of the million reasons why I married the right man!!!

Baby-Honeymoon Bliss

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

I just returned from an outing to the grocery store with Kate. It’s become quite the adventure to shop with her. Now that she sits up on her own, she loves to ride around in the cart and “talk” to everyone she sees. This morning her words of choice were, “Cah! Cah!…Goy-Goy-Goy” as we scooted up and down the aisles. She could be heard from one end of the store to the other. At the meat counter and check out line, she flashed her big flirty smile to everyone she saw, hoping to get their attention…and attention she got! She’s becoming quite the ham these days. At 8 months old, she’s become so interactive, convincing her parents that she’s the sweetest girl we’ve ever seen (no bias, I know). She gets so excited with herself in the little things, like riding around in the grocery cart or getting ready to take a bath. I find myself taking in this precious time with her. No fits, no temper tantrums, no battles as she exerts her will (though she can meltdown if deprived of naps!)…this brief time before her sinful nature becomes all too evident. We’ve been told we’re in the delightful “honeymoon stage,” the stage where there is so much sweetness and fun that you start to think, “I think I’m ready for another one!” Needless to say, this stage is GREAT. What a kind and creative God to give us this gift and privilege of raising a little girl of our own. Pray that we will be parents who honor Christ in our raising her through all the stages to come!
